What is wrong with the 'before'
the plain soft beauty, the unadorned?

Can one beautify the sun
hang earrings on its rays, place rouge 
on its corona?

See the 'before' as it is, the purest view, the face
as it was meant to be, the rapture
of the raw earth with nothing added.
