Submissions will open for the Winter/Spring, 2009 collection from October 1, 2008 to December 1, 2008. It's okay to send
submissions early but please note that we will not be reading until October, 2008. Accepted poems
will be posted between January and March, 2009. If you don't receive an acceptance notice by January 15, 2009 then it's safe
to assume we won't be using your work. Simultaneous submissions are welcome, as always,
provided you agree to notify us upon acceptance elsewhere. Please
see full guidelines and correct e-mail address for submissions below.
Thanks for your time, interest, and contributions.

Submission Guidelines:
We are looking
for well crafted poems that are clear and engage the
reader's imagination, psyche, or senses through some
combination of exceptional thought, emotion, and/or imagery.
Accepted poems will be published on-line at www.alittlepoetry.com and may
also be included in whole or in part within our quarterly newsletter.
Please join our e-mail list
for announcements and site news.
At present, we are unable to pay contributors. What we can offer is a big "thank you"
and a friendly audience (currently averaging 10,000 unique visitors per month).
Guidelines are as follows:
1) Brief biographical information is welcome. Please do include your name and contact information.
2) Please send 1 to 5 poems within the body of an e-mail.
Attachments will not be read and will be automatically discarded by our e-mail filter.
Type or copy/paste your poems in the body of the e-mail message.
3) Simultaneous submissions are completely welcome and encouraged
provided that you advise of such. We do ask that you notify us immediately
if the work is accepted elsewhere.
4) Submission of previously published work will be reviewed but is rarely used.
Please provide
the date and publication in which it first appeared.
5) Please advise if you wish for your e-mail address and/or web site address to be
published with any accepted poem(s).
6) Acceptance notices generally go out within 4 to 6 weeks after the announced reading period.
We do not generally comment on submissions and don't send out rejection notices.
If you do not hear from us within 6 weeks (from the end of given reading period), then it's safe to assume that we will not be
using what you sent. This is another reason why we have no objection to simultaneous submissions.
If we are backlogged, we may contact you after 6 weeks to see
if the work is still available, etc.
7) By submitting content you automatically grant the owners
of www.alittlepoetry.com (A Little Poetry), or warrant that the owner of
such content has expressly granted A Little Poetry, first electronic publishing
rights to any part of the submission selected by the editors and
license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate and distribute
the content (in whole or in part) worldwide via the this site and/or
communications from this site such as appearing in our quarterly newsletter and/or
via any print editions published by or on behalf of A Little Poetry.
Subject to this grant, the owner of said content retains any and all rights
which may exist in such content.
You warrant that you own the material
you are submitting and that it does not infringe any copyrights owned by others.
You also permit others to access, view, store or reproduce the content for their personal use.
